HP 255 G7 entry-level business laptop is built with the aim to offer a large display and other features at a pocket-friendly price without compromising performance. The HP 255 G7 delivers new levels of functionality with the AMD A4-Series APU processor alongside an AMD Radeon™ R3 Graphics card, different display options inside a thin and light chassis body.


At first glance, the HP 255 G7 looks similar to HP 250 G7 with the overall plastic body build. The design gives the laptop a lightweight but it is durable and strong enough to withstand rough days. It has thick bezels but its side bezels have been trimmed. The top bezel is still thick and can accommodate the 720p TrueVision HD Camera.

Below the keyboard is positioned the smooth and functional touchpad with multi-touch gesture support. The pad, of course, is plastic like the other part of the laptop.


HP 255 G7 comes with a TN-based display panel. It has a 15.6 inches diagonal 220 cd/m2 (brightness), 67% s RGB (colour). Furthermore, the screen comes with an HD anti-glare display panel with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, although there is also an option of 1920 x 1080 resolution. The HP 255 G7 laptop also features an image aspect ratio of 16:9, hence resulting in a bigger view of the picture.


The HP 255 G7 is powered by a 7th Generation AMD A4-Series APUs processor. This processor has up to four different chipset options. Its first option offers an AMD Ryzen 3 2200U APU processor which has a 2.5 GHz base frequency, 2 cores and is backed by an AMD Radeon Vega Graphics card.

Its second option offers an AMD A9-9425 APU processor which has a 3.1 GHz base frequency and offers up to 2 cores. This model comes with an AMD Radeon R5 Graphics card.

The third option is an AMD A6-9225 APU processor which offers a 2.6 GHz base frequency, 2 cores, and an AMD Radeon R4 graphic card.

Finally, the last option comes with an AMD E2-9000e APU processor that offers a 1.5 GHz base frequency and 2 cores. This model is also supported by an AMD Radeon R2 Graphics card.

All its chipsets are Integrated with the processors, thus offering a perfect workhorse for the office and everyday use.

Operating System

The operating system of the HP 255 G7 laptop is FreeDos.


The HP 255 G7 laptop has an HP Long Life 3-cell 41 Wh Li-ion battery. It weighs 0.39lb or 0.18kg. This is an internal battery that is not replaceable but can be serviced by warranty. The battery is powered by an HP Smart 45W External AC power adapter.


The HP 255 G7 laptop has an internal memory of 4 GB DDR4 – 1866 SDRAM. Its standard memory note transfer rate is up to 1866 MT/s (million transfers per second). It also has an internal storage of 500GB HDD.

The laptop has two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port and 1 HDMI 1.4b port. Other ports include an RJ – 45 port, headphone/microphone combo port and an AC power8 port.
